Apple Butter with Cider

Recipe for 3 jars This apple butter is a delight, it's like a pureed applesauce but with a hint of butter that is to die for.

Instructions

  • 1.   Peel the apples, remove the core and cut them into cubes.
    In a saucepan, pour the cider, add the apples and honey.
    Heat gently and let cook covered, stirring occasionally until the apples are well cooked.
  • 2.   Remove from heat, add the softened butter in pieces, cinnamon and blend everything together.
  • 3.   Pour into jars.

Notes & Suggestions

  • Remember to taste to check if the mixture is sweet enough, it will depend on the chosen apples.

    If you don't like cinnamon, you can always replace it with vanilla.

    I don't know the shelf life.
    However, I proceeded as for a jam: I filled my jars with the hot mixture, closed them and turned them upside down. I think they can easily be stored for a month.
