White beans with tomato (Italy)

Instructions

  • 1.   Peel the garlic cloves and cut them in half. Also cut the peppers in half (keep the seeds if you like spicy dishes).
  • 2.   Heat the oil in a large pan, and fry the garlic and peppers in it.
  • 3.   When the garlic and peppers are golden brown, add the contents of the can of tomatoes. Cook over low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring regularly. If the tomatoes are too acidic, add a teaspoon of sugar.
  • 4.   Then add the entire contents of the can of beans (including the liquid). Let it reduce over medium heat for 10 minutes.
  • 5.   This dish can be eaten very liquid or thicker, according to your taste.
  • 6.   It is usually eaten with a lot of bread (for dipping), as a main course but can also be served as a side dish.
