Instructions

  • 1.   Prepare the vegetables: peel and cut into cubes. Heat the cooking fat in a large pot and add the cumin, mustard, and fennel seeds. Sauté over medium-high heat for 1 minute, then add the other spices and stir. Add the lentils and rice. Pour in 4 small glasses of water and add the vegetable cubes. Add the opened cardamom pods and bay leaves. Cover and cook over medium heat for 15 minutes, then reduce the heat to low and cook for 1 hour. Season with salt and serve with freshly chopped coriander leaves.

  • ½ teaspoon of cinnamon powder
  • 1 glass of red lentil
  • ½ glass of basmati rice
  • 2 bag of powdered cardamom
  • 2 bay leaves
  • pepper (according to taste)
