1. Cut them into small pieces. Cook them until they are tender. Usually 5 to 6 minutes in a pot of boiling water is enough.
In a bowl, beat the egg. Add the flour, Parmesan cheese, garlic, salt, and pepper. The batter should be quite thick at this stage of the recipe.
Pour the broccoli pieces, previously rinsed under cold water and drained, into the bowl. Lightly mash it with the back of a fork and mix well with the batter, which should become slightly more liquid.
Put the oil in a frying pan or pot and heat it up.
