Instructions

  • 1.   To prepare an easy raclette, start by cooking the potatoes in salted boiling water for 20-25 minutes, then drain them. The cooking time of the potatoes depends on the chosen variety and their size. To check if your potatoes are cooked, insert a knife into one of them. The blade should go in easily.
  • 2.   Then, cut the raclette cheese for your easy raclette into slices that are not too thin or too thick, leaving the rind on. Then place it in a dish. Place the corn on the cob in one bowl, and the pickles and small onions in another. To enhance your easy raclette, you can add a few slices of bacon, cold cuts (prosciutto, salami, bresaola..), and a nice green salad...
  • 3.   Then, place everything on the table around the raclette machine, arranging the cheese and cold cuts in separate dishes, and let your guests serve themselves according to their tastes! Don't forget to also offer them a few slices of country bread if you have chosen to add a terrine or pâté to accompany your raclette.

Notes & Suggestions

  • To make your easy raclette more original and delight all your guests, you can choose different types of cheese such as goat cheese, Maroilles, Saint-Nectaire, or even Fourme d'Ambert. The main thing is to give your guests a choice. Since France is the country of cheese par excellence, it would be a shame to miss out on such a selection.
