8 | Leek and Ham Gratin

This leek and ham gratin recipe is a good alternative to endives that even children will enjoy.

Instructions

  • 1.   Wash and steam the leeks for 30 minutes.
  • 2.   Drain the leeks on a towel.
  • 3.   Fold them in half and roll them in grated gruyère cheese, then wrap each one in a slice of ham.
  • 4.   Arrange them in a greased dish with the remaining butter, cover with cream, and sprinkle the remaining grated cheese on top.
  • 5.   Bake in the oven at 210°C (410°F) for about 15 minutes, until golden brown.

  • 500 g of leek
  • 4 slice of cooked ham
  • 75 g of grated Gruyère cheese
  • 20 g of butter
  • 4 tablespoon of thick sour cream
  • 1 pinch of nutmeg
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)

    Very good, usually it's made with endive but I admit that with leek it's even better
