Kurtoskalacs is a sweet preparation originating from Hungary. This essential dessert is shaped like a long cylinder and is cooked over a wood fire. It therefore has an incomparable flavor and a texture that is both crispy and soft. An original recipe to discover without delay.

Instructions

1. Warm the milk. Dissolve the yeast in the milk. Let it rest for 10 minutes.
2. Pour the flour, sugar, and salt into a large bowl. Add the egg yolks, whole eggs, and milk. Knead vigorously until you obtain a homogeneous dough.
3. Melt the butter in the microwave or in a saucepan. Incorporate it into the dough. Cover the bowl and let the dough rest for 1 hour at room temperature.
4. On a floured work surface, roll out the dough to a thickness of 2 cm. Cut strips about 3 cm wide. Cover your wooden cones with aluminum foil and lightly oil them. Wrap a strip of dough around the cylinder.
5. Using a brush, brush the dough with water. Roll the cylinder in powdered sugar. Cook the Kurtoskalacs in a fireplace, turning them regularly. Gently remove the Kurtoskalacs from the cylinder. Let them cool before tasting.
