Light Chocolate Cake

To please both children and parents, nothing is more delicious than this light chocolate cake. Easy and quick to make, this recipe will satisfy everyone for both snack time and breakfast. Super moist, this chocolate cake pairs perfectly with a cup of tea or a hot chocolate. Treat yourself to a dessert.

Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat the oven to 200°C (th.7). Melt the chopped chocolate with the softened butter in a saucepan over a double boiler. Once the chocolate is melted, set aside.
  • 2.   Crack the eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. In a bowl, beat the egg yolks with the brown sugar until the mixture becomes pale. Then, add the flour, cornstarch, and baking powder. Mix everything well to avoid lumps. Use a whisk to beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form with a pinch of salt. Gently fold them into the mixture. Then add the melted chocolate and mix again until you obtain a homogeneous cake batter.
  • 3.   Pour the cake batter into a greased mold and place it in the oven. Bake the chocolate cake for 35 minutes at 180°C (th.6) until it is well risen. Check the doneness with the tip of a knife. It should come out clean and dry at the end of the cooking time. Remove the cake from the oven and unmold it onto a serving plate. Serve warm.
