Instructions

  • 1.   1. In a blender, blend the drained chickpeas with lemon juice, garlic, and parsley.
  • 2.   2. Pour the obtained puree into a bowl, then add the egg, chili pepper, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix everything together to obtain a smooth texture.
  • 3.   3. Shape the mixture into balls of approximately 3 cm in diameter.
  • 4.   4. In a frying pan, pour about 2 to 3 cm of oil, heat it up, and fry the falafel balls until they are golden and crispy, approximately 8 minutes over medium heat.
  • 5.   5. Serve the falafels hot, accompanied by a tzatziki-like sauce.

Notes & Suggestions

  • Chickpeas are low in fat, and like all plant-based foods, they do not contain cholesterol. You don't need to be a vegetarian to enjoy their flavor and benefits!
