1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
(With a good stand mixer and the K beater attachment, you can put everything in the bowl except the milk and slowly add it. Otherwise, follow the steps below.)
2. In a mixing bowl, place the softened butter and whisk it to soften it further. Add the sugar and mix.
3. Add the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder. Mix well and finish by adding the milk until you have a smooth batter.
4. Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan. Bake for 20 minutes at 180°C (350°F). Check the doneness with a knife blade.
