Goat Cheese and Shallot Croque - serve with a side of salad

Instructions

  • 1.   Slice the goat cheese log into 6 rounds and set aside in the refrigerator.
    In a bowl, mix the cream and emmental cheese.
    Season to taste (black pepper and a pinch of salt for me) and mix. Add the finely minced shallot and mix again.
  • 2.   On the first slice of bread, spread a layer of this mixture, then place half a slice of ham on top, followed by a dollop of the mixture in the center and the last slice of bread.
  • 3.   Spread the remaining shallot cream on top of the bread. Place a slice of goat cheese on top and sprinkle with oregano.
    Repeat the process for the remaining croque-monsieurs.
    Bake in a preheated oven (180°C) until the top is golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
