Tomato and Basil Gnocchi

Instructions

  • 1.   Start this tomato and basil gnocchi recipe by preparing the sauce: Peel and finely chop the onion and sauté it over medium heat in a large skillet with olive oil, without letting it brown. Add the tomatoes, peeled and crushed garlic, thyme, salt, and pepper. Cover and let simmer over low heat for 30 minutes.
  • 2.   Bring a pot of salted boiling water to a boil, then cook the gnocchi in small batches. Remove them with a slotted spoon as soon as they float to the surface.
  • 3.   Transfer them to the tomato sauce as you go and let them cook for a few more minutes. Sprinkle the top with basil leaves, then serve.

  • 500 g of crushed tomato
  • 1 onion
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 sprig of fresh basil
  • 2 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 sprig of thyme
  • salt (according to taste)
