Instructions
1. Bring the cream and milk to a boil, add nutmeg and grated cheese while stirring gently until melted.
2. Let it cool. Clean the leeks and cut them into strips. Peel the carrots and cut them into rounds.
3. Then cut the sausage into rounds and the potatoes into thin rounds.
4. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C). Rub a gratin dish with the cut garlic clove, then butter it.
5. Arrange the vegetables and sausage in successive rows. Lightly season the vegetables between each layer and pour the mixture of cream, milk, and cheese over everything.
6. Bake for about 55 minutes in the middle of the oven, then increase the temperature to 400°F (200°C) (if the gratin browns too quickly, like it did for me, cover it with aluminum foil) and let it brown for another 15 minutes until the top is golden brown.
