Instructions

  • 1.   Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic cloves. Remove the seeds and dice the bell pepper.
  • 2.   In a saucepan, heat a drizzle of olive oil and sauté the onion and garlic. Add the ground beef, bell pepper, and spices, and cook until browned, stirring regularly.
  • 3.   Add the crushed tomatoes, lightly salt, and let simmer over very low heat for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
  • 4.   Add the red beans and continue cooking for at least 30 minutes, ideally 1 hour. Season with pepper at the end of cooking and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
