Chocolate Mousse

Need a sweet chocolate fix? Chocolate mousse is the solution! This classic French dessert is simple and quick to make. In fact, chocolate mousse only requires three ingredients: chocolate, eggs, and salt! Plus, having chocolate mousse as a dessert allows you to finish the meal on a light note.

Instructions

  • 1.   Melt the chocolate broken into pieces either in a double boiler or in the microwave (medium power). Smooth it out. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites. Whisk the yolks in a bowl while gradually incorporating the melted chocolate.
  • 2.   Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form with a pinch of salt. Mix 2 tablespoons of beaten egg whites with the chocolate mixture, stirring vigorously to soften it, then gently fold in the remaining egg whites.
  • 3.   Pour the mousse into bowls or glasses. Chill for a minimum of 2 hours in the refrigerator. Serve chilled.
