Instructions

  • 1.   Peel the pears and keep the stems.
    If, like me, you're not an expert at peeling and have marks, gently run the knife blade over the edges to smooth the pear.
    Squeeze the half lemon over the surface of the pears to prevent them from turning brown.
  • 2.   In a saucepan, add 1 liter of water.
    Cut the vanilla bean in half and scrape out the seeds.
    Add the seeds, bean, and sugar to the water.
    Bring to a boil.
  • 3.   Reduce the heat and add the pears.
    Cover halfway and let the pears simmer in the syrup for 15 minutes.
    Allow the pears to cool in the syrup.
    Be careful when removing them from the saucepan.
  • 4.   You can serve the pears alone or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
