Instructions

  • 1.   Peel and slice the potatoes using a mandoline.
  • 2.   Rub the gratin dish with garlic and coat it with butter.
  • 3.   Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • 4.   Mix the milk and cream, season with salt, pepper, and sprinkle a little nutmeg.
  • 5.   Arrange overlapping slices of potatoes in the dish. Pour the mixture over them. Repeat with the remaining potatoes.
  • 6.   Add knobs of butter on top.
  • 7.   Bake for 1 hour and 30 minutes, checking the cooking progress.
