Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a saucepan, heat the liter of milk and let it boil for 5 minutes over low heat. It needs to boil for a long time to evaporate the water as much as possible.

    In a bowl, beat the eggs and sugar with a fork for 5/10 minutes. Add the vanilla extract.

    Gradually pour the hot milk over the eggs while beating. Strain the mixture into a rectangular Pyrex dish.

    Bake in a water bath for about 30 minutes at 180°C (350°F). The milk custard is cooked when a golden layer has formed on top.

    Let it cool down and refrigerate.
