Apple compote cake or applesauce cake

Discover the Apfelmuskuchen, a German cake made with applesauce, delicious and moist. Inspired by the book "Großmutters beste Blechkuchen", this dessert is ideal for celebrating German National Day.

Instructions

  • 1.   Prepare the applesauce: peel, cut, and core the apples.
  • 2.   Cook the apples with a little water and cinnamon over low heat until fully cooked. Let cool and blend.
  • 3.   Preheat the oven to 210°C (410°F).
  • 4.   Beat the eggs with the sugar, then add the softened butter.
  • 5.   Mix in the flour, pudding mix (or pastry cream), and baking powder.
  • 6.   Add the milk and mix well.
  • 7.   Pour the batter into a greased 25 cm (10 inch) diameter pan.
  • 8.   Spread the applesauce on top.
  • 9.   Bake for about 30 minutes.
  • 10.   Let cool before removing from the pan and dust with powdered sugar.

  • 1 bag of pudding
  • 1 bag of baking powder
  • 100 ml of milk
  • 100 g of soft butter
  • 725 g of apple compote
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)

  • 1 egg (optional)
  • 20 g of sugar (optional)
  • 2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 20 g of cornstarch
