1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F). In a bowl, add the flour and baking powder. Mix.
2. Add the eggs, salt, pepper, and mix again using a whisk.
3. Add the oil and mix. Gradually pour in the milk and mix again until you obtain a homogeneous texture.
4. Incorporate into the cake batter: grated Comté cheese and diced ham (keep a little bit aside for decorating the cake). Mix using a spatula.
5. Grease and flour the cake mold (ours is 29 x 10 cm), then pour in the batter. Decorate the top of the cake with the reserved diced ham. Bake for 40 minutes at 180°C (350°F).
6. Once the cake is golden brown, insert a knife into the center. If it comes out clean, the cake is ready. Otherwise, bake for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. Serve it as an appetizer or with a green salad seasoned to your taste. It's ready!
Notes & Suggestions
Can be made with Reblochon cheese. Very good.
You can reduce the amount of oil.
Instead of grated Comté cheese, I used diced Comté cheese.
