Chickpea Curry

Instructions

  • 1.   Heat the oil in a pot or Dutch oven.
  • 2.   Sauté the onions and garlic in it, stirring.
  • 3.   Add the spices and stir.
  • 4.   Add the tomatoes with their juice.
  • 5.   Then add the chickpeas. Mix.
  • 6.   Cover and let simmer for 20 minutes over low heat.
  • 7.   Season with salt, add the garam masala, stir, and continue cooking for 20 minutes.

  • 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil
  • 2 onions
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 800 g of chickpeas (canned, drained weight)
  • 450 g of canned peeled tomato (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 pinch of curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon of chili powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1 pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon of ground coriander
  • 800 g of rice
