Spanish-style Chickpeas

Instructions

  • 1.   Peel the onions and finely slice them.
  • 2.   Heat the oil in a frying pan. When it is hot, add the onions and sauté while stirring.

    Then add the tomatoes and paprika.

    Season with salt and pepper, mix well.

    Cover and let simmer over low heat for 10 minutes.
  • 3.   Meanwhile, pour the chickpeas into a colander and rinse them thoroughly under cold water.

    Drain them and place them in a salad bowl.
  • 4.   When the onion sauce is cooked, remove from heat and let it cool down.

    Then pour it over the chickpeas and mix. Chill the chickpea salad.

  • 600 g of chickpeas (canned, drained weight)
  • 400 g of canned peeled tomato
  • 4 large onion
  • 3 tablespoon of olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon of paprika
  • salt (according to taste)
  • pepper (according to taste)
