Tartiflette

Tartiflette is a gratin made with potatoes and onions, topped with melted reblochon cheese, a cheese originating from the Savoie region in France and produced in the Aravis and Val d'Arly areas.

Instructions

  • 1.   Peel the potatoes, cut them into cubes, rinse them well, and dry them with a clean towel.
  • 2.   Heat the oil in a frying pan and melt the onions in it.
  • 3.   Once the onions are melted, add the potatoes and brown them on all sides.
  • 4.   When they are golden brown, add the bacon and finish cooking.
  • 5.   Meanwhile, scrape the rind off the reblochon cheese and cut it in half (or into quarters).
  • 6.   Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F) and prepare a gratin dish by rubbing the bottom and sides with the peeled garlic clove.
  • 7.   In the gratin dish, spread a layer of potatoes with bacon, place half of the reblochon cheese on top, then another layer of potatoes. Finish with the remaining reblochon cheese (rind facing the potatoes).
  • 8.   Bake for about 20 minutes.

  • 2 onions
  • 240 g of Reblochon
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch of pepper
