APPLE CAKE

Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • 2.   In a bowl, mix together 170g (1 1/3 cups) of flour, 150g (3/4 cup) of sugar, almond powder, milk, oil, and 2 eggs.
  • 3.   Peel the apples and cut them into thick slices.
  • 4.   Put the batter in a high-sided, buttered, and floured cake pan.
  • 5.   Place the apple slices on top of the batter.
  • 6.   Bake for 20 minutes.
  • 7.   Preparation of the topping.
  • 8.   In a saucepan, melt the butter.
  • 9.   Add 120g (2/3 cup) of sugar and vanilla extract, and let the sugar melt.
  • 10.   Remove from heat, add 2 eggs, and whisk.
  • 11.   Pour the topping over the cake and bake again for 15 minutes, then increase the oven temperature to 230 degrees Celsius (450 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • 12.   Allow to cool before removing from the pan.
  • 13.   Enjoy!
