Meat Pie

Instructions

  • 1.   Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  • 2.   In a saucepan, combine the pork, beef, onion, minced garlic, water, salt, thyme, ground sage, pepper, and ground cloves. Cook over medium heat until the mixture boils, stirring occasionally. Reduce the heat and simmer until the meat is cooked, about 5 minutes.
  • 3.   Pour the meat mixture into the pie crust (bottom crust). Place the second crust on top and pinch the edges to seal the two crusts together, then trim any excess dough around the pie plate. Cover with aluminum foil.
  • 4.   Bake in the oven for 20 minutes, remove the aluminum foil and return to the oven. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, until the pie is golden brown. Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.
