Tonkatsu

Tonkatsu is a Japanese dish made of breaded and fried pork. Ton means "pork," and katsu is the abbreviation of the English word "cutlet," derived from the French word "côtelette." It is served with Worcestershire sauce, shredded cabbage, and karashi. It is often served with rice and miso soup. Wikipedia ;) Here, I am only giving the recipe for tonkatsu, not the rest.

Instructions

  • 1.   Dip the pork in flour, then in egg, and then in panko (a lot).
  • 2.   Fry it! Flip it to get a nice golden color on each side :D

Notes & Suggestions

  • The frying will be much better if replaced with panko (it's just coarse breadcrumbs made specifically for this type of dish).
The pork can be replaced with almost any type of meat.
