Instructions

  • 1.   Lay a sheet of brick pastry on a flat plate (if it needs to be softened, lightly brush it with olive oil or butter)
  • 2.   Place a slice of ham in the middle of the brick pastry.
    Crack an egg on top and sprinkle the egg with some grated cheese. Season with salt and pepper to taste, then fold the brick pastry into quarters to form a turnover.
  • 3.   Repeat the process with the remaining sheets of brick pastry until all the ingredients are used.
  • 4.   Melt a knob of butter or a tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over low heat.
  • 5.   Place the bricks in the pan and cook them for 1 minute on each side. They should be golden and crispy at the end of cooking.
  • 6.   Drain the bricks on paper towels at the end of cooking.
  • 7.   Arrange the bricks on a bed of seasoned green salad in plates and serve immediately.
