. Wash the potatoes, do not peel them (unless you have old potatoes with thick skin).

. Cut the potatoes into thin slices (3 to 5 mm), without cutting all the way through (use chopsticks as a guide).

. Brush the potatoes with melted butter or oil.

. Add salt, herbs, and spices.

. Bake in the oven at 180 °C (350 °F) for about 45 minutes.

. Serve hot.
